ONEIROLOGY
Oneirology (from Greek oneiros, "dream"; and -λογία, -logia) is the scientific study of dreams.
The first recorded use of the word was in 1653. An advocate of this discipline was the French sinologist Marquis d'Hervey de Saint Denys. The field gained momentum when Nathaniel Kleitman and his student Eugene Aserinsky discovered regular cycles. A further experiment by Kleitman and William C. Dement, then another medical student, demonstrated the particular period of sleep during which electrical brain activity, as measured by an electroencephalograph (EEG), closely resembled that of waking, in which the eyes dart about actively. This kind of sleep became known as rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, and Kleitman and Dement's experiment found a correlation of .80 between REM sleep and dreaming.
The independent and almost simultaneous confirmation of lucid dreaming by Stephen LaBerge of Stanford University and Keith Hearne encouraged further experiments and developments.
Current research seeks correlations between dreaming and current knowledge about the functions of the brain, as well as understanding of how the brain works during dreaming as pertains to memory formation and mental disorders. The study of oneirology can be distinguished from dream analysis in that the aim is to quantitatively study the process of dreams instead of analyzing the meaning behind them.

Albert e Allen Hughes são Irmãos e realizaram o filme "The Book of Eli" (2010), apresentando um elenco que inclui, Denzel Washington, Jeniffer Beals, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, e até Tom Waits... Com este elenco, e após ter visto o "trailer", fiquei cheio de vontade de ver o filme. Ah... e são Irmãos Gêmeos...

Shakira e a a idade com que Jesus Cristo morreu...
Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, nasceu em Barranquilla, Colombia, no dia 2 de Fevereiro de 1977. O seu Pai era um emigrante Libanês no continente Americano, a sua Mãe nascida na Colombia, tem ascendencia Espanhola e Italiana. Esta mistura de raças não lhe deu foi altura, pelo menos fisicamente (tem apenas 1,57m...). Parabéns à Loba que faz hoje 33 anos!

Digam o que disserem; fui ver, em Santo Domingo, RD, hoje à noite, e gostei, imenso. Parece que tinha visto o "The Blairwitch Project" 10 anos antes em Clonmel, na Irlanda para me preparar para ver este. Uma das diferenças é que na Irlanda não aconteceu nada (no filme) e neste acontece! Apesar das criticas, gostaria de falar com alguém que foi ver e não "sentiu" nada...31 de janeiro de 2010

Davidenko já saiu de cena...
Nikolay Davidenko 62 36 06 57 Roger Federer nos Quartos de Final. "Next". Será Djokovic ou Tsonga que estará presente na Meia Final com o Suiço? Os parciais neste momento, sendo 21h36m em Melbourne, Australia, indicam 66 no inicio do Tie Break no 1º set.
Da influencia do Sol no estado de espirito...
A Grande maior parte das pessoas estará de acordo que o Sol tem influencia no estado de espirito. Falo de um impacto agradavel. Não me refero à exposição ao Sol, que alguns practicarão com prazer colhendo disso beneficios (e maleficios) desejados. Falo isso sim, do simples facto de sabermos que, dentro de portas, se sairmos, o encontramos. A luminosidade que proporciona, é, em si um balsamo para a minha alma.

Qual deles leva a Taça?
Na Meia Final de baixo Andy Murray (GB) defronta Marin Cilic (CRO). Um destes dois manos vai à Final... Temos ainda dois jogos pertencentes aos Quartos de Final para perceber quem acede à outra meia final. Um desse jogos vai opor Roger Federer (SUI) a Nikolai Davidenko (RUS) e no outro jogo defrontar-se-ão Djokovic (SRB) e Tsonga (FR). Temos então as seguintes hipoteses de Final:
Andy Murray X Roger Federer
Andy Murray X Nikolai Davidenko
Andy Murray X Novak Djokovic
Andy Murray X Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
Só existem estes quatro cenários uma vez que, na minha modesta opinião o Murray vai ganhar ao Cilic. Assim sendo e acedendo à Final, Murray poderá jogar com um dos 4 jogadores presentes nos Quartos de Final. Roger Federer ganha claramente a Tsonga. Isto significa que se Federer ganhar a Davidenko e Djokovic perder com Tsonga, Federer está na Final. Isto porque Federer ganha a Tsonga na meia. Se por infortunio Federer perder com Davidenko, este ganha a todos os que apanhar pela frente, à excepção talvez de Murray na final... O outro cenário pode ser se Federer ganhar a Davidenko e Djokovic ganhar a Tsonga, Djokovic ganhar a Federer na Meia e ir à Final com Murray... Assim sendo creio que os potenciais vencedores do Australian Open 2010 são Federer, Murray, Davidenko, ou Djokovic.

Identity
Erik Erikson was one of the earliest psychologists to be explicitly interested in identity. The Eriksonian framework rests upon a distinction among the psychological sense of continuity, known as the ego identity (sometimes identified simply as "the self"); the personal idiosyncrasies that separate one person from the next, known as the personal identity; and the collection of social roles that a person might play, known as either the social identity or the cultural identity. Erikson's work, in the psychodynamic tradition, aimed to investigate the process of identity formation across a lifespan. Progressive strength in the ego identity, for example, can be charted in terms of a series of stages in which identity is formed in response to increasingly sophisticated challenges. On some readings of Erikson, the development of a strong ego identity, along with the proper integration into a stable society and culture, lead to a stronger sense of identity in general. Accordingly, a deficiency in either of these factors may increase the chance of an identity crisis or confusion (Cote & Levin 2002, p. 22).
Although the self is distinct from identity, the literature of self-psychology can offer some insight into how identity is maintained (Cote & Levin 2002, p. 24). From the vantage point of self-psychology, there are two areas of interest: the processes by which a self is formed (the "I"), and the actual content of the schemata which compose the self-concept (the "Me"). In the latter field, theorists have shown interest in relating the self-concept to self-esteem, the differences between complex and simple ways of organizing self-knowledge, and the links between those organizing principles and the processing of information (Cote & Levin 2002).
The "Neo-Eriksonian" identity status paradigm emerged in later years, driven largely by the work of James Marcia. This paradigm focuses upon the twin concepts of exploration and commitment. The central idea is that any individual's sense of identity is determined in large part by the explorations and commitments that he or she makes regarding certain personal and social traits. It follows that the core of the research in this paradigm investigates the degrees to which a person has made certain explorations, and the degree to which he or she displays a commitment to those explorations.
A person may display either relative weakness or relative strength in terms of both exploration and commitments. When assigned categories, four possible permutations result: identity diffusion, identity foreclosure, identity moratorium, and identity achievement. Diffusion is when a person lacks both exploration in life and interest in committing even to those unchosen roles that he or she occupies. Foreclosure is when a person has not chosen extensively in the past, but seems willing to commit to some relevant values, goals, or roles in the future. Moratorium is when a person displays a kind of flightiness, ready to make choices but unable to commit to them. Finally, achievement is when a person makes identity choices and commits to them.

The "Today is a Bonus" period begins!
No dia 28 de Dezembro, deu-se inicio ao "The Final Countdown period". Hoje, dia 22 de Janeiro, 26 dias depois, dá-se inicio ao "Today is a Bonus" period. É de notar que o inicio de ambos estes periodos ocorrem em dias cuja numeração é Par, como não podia deixar de ser... De notar também que o resultado da soma dos dias que fazem parte do periodo anterior também é Par, como não poderia deixar de ser também... Enfim ciclos...
"Flecte, flecte, insiste, insiste..."
No Dia 10 de Janeiro, estava eu em Lua de Mel, na Republica Dominicana, escrevia que "há 3 dias que não publicava nada neste meu querido Blog..." . Hoje dia 22 só me resta escrever que há 4 dias que nada publico aqui. É interessante constatar que "parece" que quando não publico existe uma relação causa e efeito em que os visitantes aumentam... É como se quisessem ver algo de novo e como não há, insistem em cá vir. Interessante para mim... será desconcertante para os "voyeurs" ?

Terminou a participação Portuguesa em Narva na Estonia no Torneio Tennis Europe (under 14)
Terminou hoje (há pouco...) a participação Portuguesa neste Torneio com a derrota de Salvador Nunes de Almeida por 0/6 e 3/6 contra Bjorn Tomson do Reino Unido... Mais uma experiencia ganha no percurso deste jovem tenista bem como do outro Tenista Luso que o acompanhava: Antonio Sabugueiro.16 de janeiro de 2010
